The Setting of the Harrieta Estate Holiday Residences

The Harrieta Estate is located in the heart of the French Basque country, in a rural area that is part of the municipality of Saint-Jean-le-Vieux.

It extends over some forty hectares and includes farm lands, a lake, prairies, woods and a proprietor's home: the Harrieta castle.

For centuries, this land belonged to the lower Basque landed gentry. Today, it has become an exceptional site for relaxation and holiday leisures, thanks to its location in a region with high tourist potential and its lush green landscape isolated from annoyances such as noise, pollution and disorderly built-up areas.

A holiday residence was recently built on the former castle grounds. Trees centuries old have been carefully preserved. Today, they blend harmoniously into the new landscape setting of the residence, also enhanced with a large variety of bushes, climbing plants and flowers.

The residence comprises six Basque-style free-standing houses, each containing two duplex lodgings 100 m2 in area. Capable of hosting 6 - 8 people, each lodging possesses an external covered terrace that is 12 m2.
Each has been given the name of a tree in the Basque language: Izaia, Akazia, Urkia, Hurritza, Leizarra, Busuntsa, Gaztaina, Haitza, Ametza, Pagoa , Sahatsa and Ezkia, thus highlighting their regional identity as well as the wooded context of the site.
The building materials used guarantee maximum conditions of acoustic insulation well beyond regulation levels.
This set of 12 rental flats has been fitted out and furnished according to the highest standards of quality, comfort and aesthetics.
In compliance with the requirements of the Clévacances Charter, the Harrieta Estate residences have been given a 3-Keys rating by that organisation.

The holiday residences are tucked into a vast set of lands where one can stroll about, fish in the lake, go pedal-boating, picnic, practice ball trap or simply take in the beautiful panoramic view of the mountains, all without ever leaving the Harrieta Estate.
