Fishing
The rivers and streams of the Basque country, filled with
trout and salmon, are much sought after by fisherman, whatever
their angle... The steady flow of these rivers is assured by a
regular yearly rainfall and by the melting of snowpacks in the
mountains.
Fishing can also be done on site at Lake Harrieta, where one
can fly-fish (on a throw-back basis) for trout, black bass and
carp. One may also fish outside official fishing season without
having to get a permit.

River-Running
Basque country is well-known for river-running sports on its
rivers and rapids. The source of sensational thrills, these
sporting experiences are nevertheless done with the assurance of
being guided by professionals who are concerned about your safety.
In collaboration with specialised firms, the Harrieta Estate
organises activities involving rafting, kayaking, canorafting,
hydrospeed, etc. These leisure activities are offered on an à
la carte basis to fit with your schedule.

Hiking
The proximity of the GR10 motorway that crosses the lush, green
hills of the Basque country, and of the Santiago de Compostella
pilgrimage contribute to the current fascination with hiking or
horseback riding.
From the Harrieta Estate, you will set off on the paths and
back roads to discover a region where shepherding is still
thriving. You will meet up with shepherds and their vast flocks,
and maybe even see some wild ponies.
